From 1993 – 2000 I played with DJ Mark and DJ Knox throughout Germany – famous Landstuhl Reggae Party and Wiesbaden Pool Party. From 2000 – present I play at house parties and online. Mickey Zimmer is a musician with a long way back career. He played in with bands such as Aquizim band and Abbakuch band, but he's also a studio engineer & producer and worked with Gregory Issacs, Horace Andy, Dawn Penn and Marcia Ball. Mickey also likes to play alternative reggae. His main instruments are rhythm and bass guitar and drums, and he is a big fan of roots music, lovers' rock, and rare groove tunes. I started as a DJ in 1974 at the age of 13 in Germany.  Inspired by AFN (American Forces Network and BFBS (British Forces Broadcast Service) I developed a real love for soul and R&B.  I grew up with many black American soldiers and I got many of my early DJ experiences from them. My first club DJ spot was in my home town in Germany at the City Saloon where again the audience was UK/US soldiers and I spent 6 years here DJing six nights a week!! There has always been two hearts ticking away inside me – one for soul & RnB and the other for reggae which is my other great passion.  My musical influences have been Marvin Gaye, Nile Rodgers. Dick Griffey (SOLAR Records), Barry White, Dennis Brown, Beres Hammond and not forgetting Bob Marley. A few years ago I discovered the UKs longest running Soul Weekender and the rest as they say is history.  It's always a pleasure to be there with the Caister family.  I love the soul spirit and the family atmosphere. For over 4 years, I have enjoyed the challenges of being an internet radio DJ and I loves all types of reggae music. Some of the first tunes bought by MsFlexin were on vinyl and include: Junior Murvin-Police and Thieves, Deborah Glasgow-When Somebody Loves You Back, Audrey Hall-One Dance Won't Do, Carol Thompson-Just A Little Bit, Kofi -Didn't I, and John Mclean-If I Gave My Heart To You. I guess your can say I'm a Lovers girl!!! Also known as "The Pastor's Daughter", I've become a great lover of gospel music and has included both secular and reggae gospel segments in my show. I also works closely with foundation reggae fraternity members in the UK and considers myself blessed to be able to know these artists.
